| Weight Maintenance |
OK, you have lost weight before, and you have gained it back. Why???
Because you went back to eating the way you did before you lost the weight, and you stopped exercising (if you ever started in the first place). It is no surprise that you regained the weight you lost, and then some!
To maintain the weight loss, it is essential that you maintain the changes in dietary protein, fat and sugars that you learned, maintain the awareness of portion size, and prevent the portion size creep that is so common in our society.
Keep snacking to a minimum, and when you snack, make sure it is not soft,
high calorie, high sugar foods, select fruits, or substitute high protein
bars; and above all,
Whether you work with a personal trainer, have machines in your home, or all you can manage is exercise bands, you MUST exercise to maintain weight loss. This takes time and commitment on your part.
No one can do this for you, Only you can walk, work out, and exercise, and only you will reap the benefit. Who said that lifestyle change is easy? It may be hard, but it is rewarding and will lead to long term, successful weight maintenance. |
